Every faculty and staff member at Pao School is committed to academic excellence within a caring and nurturing environment.
Our highly-qualified, experienced, and diverse educators come from all over the world, including Australia, China, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, South Africa, and Taiwan. Native-language instruction is provided in Chinese and English, and all educators actively participate in school activities and events, creating a uniquely multi-cultural environment for our students both inside and outside the classroom. 40%+ of our educators hold Masters degrees from such institutions as Columbia University, Fudan University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong. On average, our teaching staff have over 12 years of teaching experience.
Pao School places strong emphasis on educator training, and regularly invites experts from China and abroad to conduct professional development. Such experts include former headmasters from the Dragon School, Eton College and leading schools in Shanghai. Educators are supported by full-time educating assistants and a professional child psychologist, who assist them in teaching, teaching preparation and student supervision.

"I think that Pao School is an amazing framework for developing progressive young minds in China. The exposure the students get from an education system with teachers and friends from all over the world and with the foundation of local teachers is invaluable."
SHANE VEY, DIRECTOR OF PASTORAL CARE, PRIMARY SCHOOL
"Over the past six years, I’ve watched Pao School and its people grow and develop. I enjoy coming to work every day, and I often have the chance to share what I’ve learned with the Founders, Mentors and Principals. Our staff work extremely well as a team, and our Chinese and international teachers have great rapport with one another. Pao School parents and students are the loveliest people: Parents work hand-in-hand with the school in educating our children, playing a major role both inside and outside of the classroom. Our students love coming to school and develop close bonds with their teachers. I get very emotional when students of parents who have transferred away from Pao School for work reasons return to visit me."
CHERRY SUN, ASSISTANT HEAD OF PASTORAL CARE/CHINESE TEACHER, PRIMARY SCHOOL
"I am very familiar with traditional Chinese education and schools, and once worked for an international school. However, Pao School is a completely unique school. Here, different cultures continuously clash and merge: Each day, teachers face completely different cultural questions and challenges. We also have an American/English-style boarding model immersed in a Chinese cultural environment. All of these not only allow our students to establish their Chinese roots, broaden their views on the world, and become a diverse community of global citizens, but also lets them grow into extraordinary individuals."
YINGYU LE, CHINESE TEACHER, HIGH SCHOOL
"There are many positive aspects to working here at Pao School. Firstly, I am able to be close to my family and spend more time with them. Also, I have lots of opportunities to take part in a variety of sports, like running, swimming and cycling. Lastly, and in many ways most importantly, I enjoy working with the students and giving them the opportunity to progress through their education."
DUNCAN WELLER, ENGLISH TEACHER, HIGH SCHOOL
