The dual-language learning environment at YK Pao School is quite unusual. We are one of only a very small number of schools in the world where a substantial number of Chinese and English native speaking students are taught in both languages in the same class. This gives our students immersion in two world languages. It also gives our school a very special classroom environment, as students share the benefits of their differing cultural backgrounds with the class.

In order to ensure that our dual-language curriculum is kept abreast of innovations in this field, we are constantly refining our curricular content, reviewing our teaching resources and drawing on experience from other dual-language schools and the academic world.

Our students come from a range of linguistic backgrounds; some are monolingual when they join our school and some are trilingual.

Naturally, some students need extra help. To cater for the diverse needs of our student body we have a carefully structured programme of language support. We have additional classes for students, run by teachers who are experienced and trained in language support and we also have a full range of language support resources. Students' progress is carefully monitored and support is arranged on an individualized basis.
