We are pleased to announce that there has been another set of encouraging IB results from our 3rd graduating class.

This year group, which was 30% larger than last year, has achieved a slightly higher average point score at just over 35 compared with 2018 which was just under 35. In addition, 98.8% of students who were eligible for the Bilingual Diploma achieved it, compared to a global average of 23%. However, the most significant change from last year was the number of students who achieved over 40 points, which more than doubled, reaching a total of 19 which is almost one-quarter of the 2019 cohort. Two students (Sammi and Rudi) are to be particularly congratulated on achieving an impressive 44 points which fewer than 1% of students achieve throughout the world.

Overall these results represent another important step forward in the history of YK Pao School as we seek to establish ourselves as one of the most academic schools in Shanghai. More importantly for our Year 12 students they mean that the vast majority have secured their places at leading universities across the globe.

Mark Bishop, High School Principal, said "I want to congratulate our Year 12s on securing such impressive results which I hope do justice to all their hard work over the last couple of years. In many schools, only the top students are entered into the rigorous and demanding IB diploma exam but at Pao School, all our Year 12s are entered and so they should be rightly proud of all that they have achieved."

Executive Headmaster, David Mansfield commented:  “I am delighted for the students and their teachers at these fine set of results. It is a confirmation that Pao School is fulfilling its ambition of becoming one of the top Chinese-English bilingual schools in the world.”
