After all the disruption of the last few months, which meant that Pao School’s Year 12s were unable to take their IB exams, the school is pleased to announce that the students' work was not in vain with the achievement of yet another encouraging set of IB results.

This year group achieved an average point score of 36 compared with just over 35 in 2019. In addition, 100% of students who were eligible for the IB diploma achieved it, compared with 96% last year. Further, 100% also achieved the prestigious Bilingual Diploma compared to a global average of around 25%.

In 2018, some 14% achieved over 40 points. In 2019 this increased to 23%, whilst in 2020 this rose yet again to 26%. Similarly, just over 50% of this year’s cohort scored 37 points or more compared with 40% last year.

Just as pleasing was the fact that, even with a larger graduating cohort, the number of students who scored under 30 points declined over 60% in comparison to last year.

Overall these results represent another important step forward in the history of YK Pao School, as the school seeks to establish itself as one of the most academic schools in Shanghai whilst never losing sight of the fact that it passionately believes in holistic education.

Mark Bishop, High School Principal, said, "I want to congratulate our Year 12s and their teachers on securing such impressive results which I hope do justice to all their hard work over the last couple of years. More importantly for our Year 12 students these results mean that the vast majority have secured their places at leading universities across the globe."
